Searching for something interesting to draw on the international women's day, I found inspiration on Dance Art Journal website and decided to represent a few of the greatest female choreographers in history.
Ines Carvalho's article tells how Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Katherine Dunham and many others of the greatest female choreographer deconstructed the image of the fragile and delicate ballerina. They challenged the idea of femininity by exploring the physicality of being a woman and by breaking free from traditions.
The drawings are based on famous photographs and focusing on the idea of free movement.
