What is it
In many respects, SMT is a portrait of my generation, the millennials. Or at least it is the image of some of our aspects. Like when we are back from a party at 6 am, wondering what’s wrong with us, for we don’t seem to grow up like normal human beings. Or like when we spend three days in a row watching a TV show we’ve watched several times already but don’t feel like trying anything new. Or when we try to convince ourselves that brown bananas and a single can of tuna will definitely make for a perfectly healthy meal.

Silly Makis look innocent and cute. But truly, they are ironic, a bit cynical, rarely serious, secretly inhabited by the destructive inner rage of a thousand thunders, but no pretension to make anything of it. They’re quite nihilistic and nourish a certain fascination for chaos. With a gluttonous appetite for colourful absurdities, they’re always about to sink into madness, generally willingly.
SMT is the image of that moment when we look in the mirror, measure the distance with society's expectations and decide not to give a shit anymore. It is that moment of exhilarating forfeit when we embrace our condition and go full-on regression.
